Project Description Before leaving one evening, one of the brothers shows his younger sister, Virginia, that tonight’s crossing is different. Tonight, they are carrying pure gold. While left alone at the rifugio to await their safe return, a storm rolls in and six strangers appear in the night seeking food and shelter. As Virginia prepares their rooms as usual, she discovers one of their backpacks is weighted by hidden gold bars in the lining. Unsure whether the men are working with her family or responsible for their disappearance, Virginia lights a signal fire to her uncle prompting their search. Stuffing down the fear, she continues to host the strangers through the night, praying for a better morning. At dawn, as she continues routine, hanging wet sheets outside the rifugio, two motorcyclists emerge through the mist.
